Founded in Brooklyn by Mike and Yuri Abelson, Postalco has attracted a loyal following with its office stationery and various other products. From signature leather goods to chairs, bags and clothes, the brand’s products are developed and take shape in response to Mike and Yuri's daily enquiries. Is a calendar a time machine that transports you to the past and the future? Can the strength and balance of bridges be translated to a bag? In addition to sitting, doesn't a chair have the additional function of moving? In other words, each and every product is based on a pure perspective, which is then contemplated over and over again. "Swimming in puddles” has become a good metaphor for their approach to making things, reflecting an interest in finding possibilities within the impossible and a sense of expectation for chance encounters. Curious about this somewhat philosophical approach, I paid a visit to Postalco's atelier to grasp the reality of this free-wheeling brand.
